Moda Jelly Rolls

Moda jelly rolls hold 40 strips, each 2.5" wide, cut across the full width of one fabric line. French General fans can pick the Joie De Vivre Jelly Roll or Fleur De Paris, Hustle and Bustle is bright and modern, and 30s Playtime 2025 brings cheerful 1930s-style prints. For Christmas sewing, try Buon Natale.

Batik Jelly Rolls and Strip Packs

Timeless Treasures' Tonga Treat batik strips are some of our best sellers. Choose from Tropical, Chiffon, Firework and Blue Moon, or the full Opal and Crystal strips. Robert Kaufman's Artisan Batiks Desertscapes Roll Up and Prisma Dyes Royalty Roll Up are rich, colorful options, and RJR's Best of Malam Spindle Strips come in Sunrise and Rain Forest. Island Batik strip packs like Flour Sack and Vintage Charm are great for smaller projects. Find yardage to match in our batik fabric collection.

Kaffe Fassett and Tula Pink Design Rolls

Kaffe Fassett's design rolls bring his bold colors to strip quilts. The February 2026 Warm and February 2026 Cool design rolls make a perfect pair, as do the August 2025 Hot and Cool rolls, and the Classics Plus Spectrum and Classics Plus Meadow rolls are favorites. For a bigger stash, try a 63-piece Mini Design Roll Tower in Aboriginal Dot, Brassica or Reflections. Tula Pink fans will love the True Colors Graphite Design Roll, and FreeSpirit's Echinacea and Complements design rolls round out the group. See more in our Kaffe Fassett and Tula Pink collections.

Robert Kaufman Roll Ups

Robert Kaufman calls its jelly rolls roll ups. Flowerhouse florals include Gentle Petals, Brightly So, Jubilee and At The Cottage. From the Wishwell line, choose Wild Blue, Bright Side, Happy Hilltop or Silverstone. Cobalt Bliss, Golden Feathers and Nature's Pace are more favorites, and Holiday Flourish Forest Glen is ready for the holidays.

Wilmington, RJR and Riley Blake Strips

Wilmington's 40 Karat Gems are easy, coordinated blender rolls: try Essentials After Midnight, In The Navy or Sapphire Sky. RJR's Pixie Strips, like Starlight and Splendor, and its Butterflies in the Garden strips add florals and sparkle, and Riley Blake's Always in Season Rolie Polie rounds out the mix.

Solid Roll Ups

Solid strips are perfect for backgrounds, sashing and modern quilts. The Kona Cotton Bright Rainbow Palette Roll Up gives you a full spectrum of colors in one roll, while the Stormy Skies and Peacock palettes are calmer. Need a background? The Kona Cotton White Roll Up is all white strips, and the Moda Bella Solids Lime Junior Jelly Roll adds a bright pop. Pair any print roll with solids from our solid fabric collection.

Easy Jelly Roll Projects

Jelly rolls are made for fast quilts. Try a jelly roll race quilt, a rail fence, log cabin blocks or strip-pieced table runners. Strips also work beyond quilts, for coiled fabric baskets, braided rugs, tote bag trims and scrappy binding. Need narrower strips? See our honey buns (1.5"), or browse all precut fabric.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a jelly roll, a roll up and a design roll?
They're the same idea: a roll of 2.5" strips cut across the width of the fabric. Moda calls them jelly rolls, Robert Kaufman calls them roll ups, and FreeSpirit calls them design rolls.

How many strips are in a jelly roll?
A full roll usually has around 40 strips, and a junior roll has about half that. Each listing shows the exact count.

How much fabric is in a jelly roll?
A full roll of 40 strips at 2.5" each adds up to about 2 3/4 yards of fabric, enough for a lap quilt top with many patterns. Check your pattern for exact amounts, and use our Fabric Yardage Calculator to plan borders and backing.

What can I make with jelly roll strips?
Quilts are the classic choice, but strips also make binding, bag handles, baskets and rugs. Our guide on how to use jelly roll strips for quilting walks you through the basics, and our free jelly roll quilt patterns give you a place to start.

Can I see the jelly rolls in person?
Of course. Stop by our Richmond, TX shop, or order online and choose free local pickup. Hours and directions are on our Visit Us page.
