Christmas Quilt Kits

Start your holiday quilt now. The Dr. Seuss Grinchmas Advent Calendar Quilt Kit from Robert Kaufman is a family favorite to hang every December, and RJR's Merry, Berry & Bright Merry Little Christmas Quilt Kit is full of poinsettias and holly. 3 Sisters' A Christmas Carol Quilt Kit for Moda brings vintage charm, and the Cotswold Holiday and Winterberry kits from FreeSpirit feature rich traditional reds. See more in our Christmas fabric collection.

Kids' Quilt Kits

Make a quilt they will drag everywhere. RJR's Dino Daze line includes the Dino Night Quilt Kit and a handy Dino Dig Wall Organizer for toys and books. Truck lovers will want the Monster Trucks Silly Trucks Quilt Kit, and Benartex's In The Jungle Quilt Kit is a sweet nursery choice. For fall, RJR's Happy Owl-O-Ween Boo Quilt Kit is spooky without being scary.

Modern, Batik and Floral Quilt Kits

For a fresh, modern look, the Scout Lake Earth, Wind, Fire & Ice Kit for Cotton + Steel features bold star blocks, and RJR's Mirage Flower Power Quilt Kit is bright and graphic. Batik lovers will enjoy the Blossom Batiks Flora Flamingo Kit and the Metaphor Quilt Kit made with Expressions Batiks. For cottage and farmhouse style, try Moda's Denim Daisies, Willows Farm and The Shores, or Benartex's Floral Majesty and Floral Delight Blue.

Precut Applique Kits

Hoffman's Sew Into It kits take the cutting out of applique. Choose from the Dance Of The Butterflies Monarch, Turquoise and Opal kits, the Super Nova Spiral Borealis kit or the Winter In Wedgewood Precut Kit. Note that kits labeled "applique pieces only" include the precut shapes, not the background fabric.

Table Runner and Placemat Kits

Short on time? These kits make quick, satisfying projects and great hostess gifts: the But First Coffee Placemats Kit makes a set of six, the Charcuterie Mat and Runner Kit is made for entertaining, and the All The Love Runner Kit is ready for Valentine's Day.

What's Included in a Quilt Kit?

A quilt kit brings together coordinated fabrics and a pattern, so you can skip the planning and start sewing. Most kits include fabric for the quilt top and binding plus the pattern, while backing is usually sold separately. Contents vary, so check each listing for exactly what's included and the finished size. Need backing? Our 108" wide quilt backing finishes most quilts with no seams.

Quilt Kits Make Great Gifts

A quilting kit is a thoughtful gift for birthdays, holidays and retirements, with everything a quilter needs for a new project in one package. Not sure which kit they would love? A My Fabric Villa gift card lets them choose, and our gift guide for quilters has more ideas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do quilt kits include backing fabric?
Most kits include fabric for the top and binding only. Check the listing for your kit, and add 108" wide backing if needed.

Are quilt kits good for beginners?
Yes. Kits take the guesswork out of choosing fabrics and figuring yardage. For a first quilt, pick a kit with simple blocks, or start small with a table runner or placemat kit. Contact us if you would like help choosing.

What does "applique pieces only" mean?
Those kits include the precut applique shapes but not the background or borders, so you can pair them with a fabric you love.

When should I order a Christmas quilt kit?
The sooner the better, so you have time to finish before the holidays. If you are giving a kit as a gift, order by early December.

Can I pick up my kit locally?
Yes. Choose free local pickup at checkout to collect your kit at our Richmond, TX store, or have it shipped anywhere in the US. See our Visit Us page for hours.
